What is the PRECICE lengthening system?
It is an intramedullary device designed to lengthen the femur and tibia, through magnets that are activated with an external remote control, facilitating the procedure from the comfort of your home.
Procedure
Precice implantation
Unlike standard fracture fixation, a corticotomy (a precise cut into the bone) is performed, which promotes optimal bone regeneration during the lengthening process. At the end of the procedure, the specialist activates the device, creating an ideal environment for bone lengthening and the formation of new bone.
Step 1: Minimally Invasive Access:
A small incision is made to create a small opening at the end of the bone to be treated.
Step 2: Implant Insertion:
The appropriately sized device is inserted into the medullary canal (the center of the bone).
Step 3: Implant Locking:
Two small incisions are made at opposite ends of the bones to insert the secondary implants and thus secure the device normally at four points.
